Photo Booth Rental Cost: The Complete Guide

Two quotes can both say four hours and $700 and mean different things. One includes a trained person standing next to the booth all night. The other is a tablet on a stand that a driver drops off and picks up. Price only means something once you know what is inside it.

What each booth costs

Pricing is flat and by the hour block.

  • Digital Photo Booth: $300 for 2 hours, $400 for 3 hours, $500 for 4 hours, $100 per extra hour. No printer. Unlimited pictures, GIFs and boomerangs, sharing by QR code or text. Smallest footprint of anything we rent.
  • Open Air Photo Booth: $400 for 2 hours, $550 for 3 hours, $700 for 4 hours, $150 per extra hour. DSLR and studio strobe, unlimited pictures, instant 2x6 prints plus QR sharing. Plan on about 8x8 feet.
  • 360 Video Booth: $500 for 2 hours, $700 for 3 hours, $900 for 4 hours, $200 per extra hour. Slow motion rotating video and one song choice. Needs about 12x12 feet of clear floor, the detail most people miss.
  • Vogue Magazine Box: $1200 for 4 hours, $1500 for 5 hours, $1800 for 6 hours, $300 per extra hour. A life-size illuminated box that puts a guest on a magazine cover. Needs about 10x10 feet with 9 feet of clearance.

What is already in that number

Delivery, setup, teardown and an on-site attendant are included in every package except the Vogue Magazine Box, where guests usually shoot on their own phones and an attendant is an add-on. Props, a lighting kit, a shimmery backdrop and a personalized template are included too. If your venue requires a certificate of insurance, we provide one at no charge.

Travel is free within 40 miles of the main city. Past that there is a flat fee, quoted up front rather than calculated after the fact.

We do not charge an idle hour fee

Plenty of companies bill an idle rate when a booth is set up early and sits dark until the party starts. We do not. It is not on our price list and it will not appear on your invoice. Still tell us the real schedule, because a ballroom that only opens to vendors at 3:00 PM for an 8:00 PM start changes how we plan the day.

Fees worth asking any vendor about

  • Idle or standby time, and whether setup counts against your rental hours.:
  • Travel or mileage past a certain radius, and whether it is flat or per mile.:
  • Sales tax and attendant gratuity, and whether the quote includes them or adds them later.:
  • Print limits. Unlimited sessions and unlimited prints are not the same promise.:
  • Overtime rate on the night. Ask what an extra hour costs before you need one.:
  • Outdoor setup requirements. Grass, wind and full sun usually mean a canopy, weighted stands and a real power drop.:

How many hours you actually need

A booth handles roughly 25 to 35 groups an hour once a line forms. A hundred guests in groups of three is about 33 sessions, so three hours covers it with room to spare. Under 60 guests, two hours is usually plenty. Over 200, book four and expect a steady line.

Placement of those hours matters more than the count. Nobody uses a booth during dinner, toasts or a ceremony. The useful window is cocktail hour and the stretch after the first dance or the cake. Two well placed hours beat four hours that overlap a plated meal.

What to confirm with the venue

Measure the open floor, not the room. A 360 booth needs 12x12 feet clear, and a corner already holding a gift table does not qualify. Ask where the nearest standard outlet is and whether cords can cross a walkway. Ask about load-in: a service door, a freight elevator and a parking spot for a van decide whether setup takes 45 minutes or two hours.

Deposit and payment

A $200 deposit holds your date. The balance is due 7 days before the event, so there is nothing to settle on the night and no card to hand anyone mid-party. Get the exact legal name your venue wants on the certificate of insurance while you are booking.

If you are deciding between two booths, send us the room dimensions and the guest count and we will tell you which one fits. Call +1 (800) 709-8579 or email info@peekaboothusa.com.
